Life expectancy at birth is affected by low access and poor quality of health service. This is due to the fact that more than half of all deliveries occur at home. Subsequently, there are many unregistered children which in turn leads to their being denied access to their rights to education and social protection.
Food and nutrition security affects millions of children as one in every 3 children under-five in Angola have chronic malnutrition. Also, more than one children, died from food insecurity in 2019.
For those children who have access to primary education, half of them drop out before completing.
Gender based violence is an issue affecting parent’s capacity and psychosocial wellbeing to provide nurturing care for their children. One third of girls and women aged 15-49 have experienced marital, physical or sexual violence.
