Issues affecting children and young people in Namibia

  • Lack of parental support and supervision which leads to criminal activities and deviant behaviors.
  • Poor sanitation facilities which leads to poor health care.
  • Early teenage pregnancies which leads to dropping out of school.
  • Child-headed households which leads to abuse and exploitation in terms of child labour and early marriages.
  • Poverty as a result of being orphans and vulnerable children.
